Questions

Before you apply.

Getting Started

What is MothCard?

MothCard is a crypto spending card. Deposit USDT into your wallet, apply for a Visa or Mastercard, and spend anywhere those card networks are accepted worldwide.

How do I get started?

Just four steps: (1) sign in with your email, Apple, or Google; (2) pick a card that suits you and complete identity verification; (3) top up your wallet; (4) load funds from your wallet onto your card, and you are ready to spend.

Are there any costs to use MothCard?

Applying for and using a card involves certain fees (issuance, maintenance, etc.). All amounts are clearly shown in the App before you proceed.

Login & Account

What sign-in methods are available?

You can sign in with your email, or use one-tap sign-in with Apple or Google. Once set up, you can also unlock the App with Face ID / fingerprint for daily use.

Do I need to register separately?

No. After you enter your email, the App automatically recognises whether you are new or returning and guides you to the next step — you do not need to choose between sign in and register.

Do I have to set a password?

It is optional. You can skip and start using the App right away, and add a password later in Settings for faster sign-in.

How do I enable Face ID / fingerprint sign-in?

Turn it on in Security Settings. Once enabled, you can unlock the App with Face ID or fingerprint on daily use, without entering your password each time.

What if I forget my password?

Tap "Forgot password" on the sign-in page, then reset it using the verification code sent to your email.

Can I sign in on a new phone?

Yes. Sign in with the same email, Apple, or Google — your cards and funds are safe and will not be lost. For security, the first sign-in on a new device may require additional identity verification.

I got a notice that I signed in on another device?

For account security, when the same account signs in on a new device, the old device is signed out. If this was not you, please change your password immediately and contact support.

How do I change my email?

You can update the linked email in Security Settings by following the on-screen verification steps. (You will need to sign in again after changing your email.)

How do I delete my account?

You can request account deletion from Profile after completing an identity check. Once deleted, all account data will be permanently removed and cannot be recovered — please move any funds out of your card and wallet before proceeding.

Verification

Why do I need identity verification?

It is a required compliance step for card issuance — to confirm that you personally are applying for the card, and to protect your funds.

What documents do I need?

Just one valid personal ID. The App will show the ID types accepted for your country/region and guide you through the upload. In some cases, a quick face scan may also be required.

How long does verification take?

Your submission enters review, and we will notify you in the App once the result is ready — please keep notifications on. Review time varies; please be patient.

What if my verification fails?

You can see the reason in the App and resubmit (e.g. retake a clear photo of your ID if the previous one was blurry). If the reason is unclear, contact support for help.

Where is my verification now?

This is account-specific — contact support and we can look up your current progress.

Cards

What cards does MothCard offer?

MothCard offers virtual cards for online spending, which can also be added to Apple Pay / Google Pay for wider use.

How do I apply for a card?

Pick a card that suits you, complete identity verification, and make sure your wallet balance covers the issuance fee — then submit your application.

How do I view my card number and security code?

The full card number and security code are shown on the card details page. For security, you will be asked to verify your identity, and the details will auto-hide after a short time.

How do I freeze or unfreeze my card?

You can freeze or unfreeze anytime from the card details page. A frozen card cannot be used for spending; unfreeze yourself whenever you need to use it again.

My card is frozen but I did not freeze it?

If you froze it yourself, unfreeze from the card details page. If it was frozen for security reasons, please contact support to look into it.

Are there fees on the card?

There may be fees such as issuance and maintenance. All fees are clearly listed in the card details / fees page in the App — please refer to the App for the definitive amounts.

Are there spending limits?

Yes — per-transaction, daily, and monthly limits apply. Refer to the App for the exact amounts.

Does the card expire?

Yes, every card has an expiry date, shown on the card details page. Once expired the card can no longer be used — please refer to the App for the exact date.

How do I cancel a card?

You can cancel a card from the card details page. Please spend or transfer out any remaining balance first — the card balance cannot be recovered after cancellation.

Top-up & Spending

How do I top up my wallet?

Top up your wallet with USDT. Please use only the network shown in the App for the USDT transfer — funds sent using another currency or another network cannot be recovered.

How long does a top-up take?

After the transfer is complete, your wallet balance is usually updated shortly. If it has not arrived after a while, please contact support to look into it.

I topped up but do not see the balance?

Please first confirm the transfer is complete and that you used the network shown in the App. If the balance still does not appear, please contact support.

Are the wallet and card balances separate?

Yes. Top up your wallet first, then load funds from the wallet onto your card — only then can you spend with the card.

Where can I use the card?

You can use the card at any online merchant that accepts Visa or Mastercard. Some countries or regions may have restrictions; contact support if you are unsure.

How do I add my card to Apple Pay / Google Pay?

Open the card details and follow the prompts in your phone wallet to add it.

Why was my payment declined?

Please check in order: (1) whether the card has enough balance (including fees); (2) whether the card is frozen; (3) whether it exceeds the spending limits; (4) whether the merchant or region is within the supported range; (5) whether there is a verification waiting for you to confirm in the App. Please do not retry many times in a row, as it may be flagged as unusual. If you still cannot pay after checking, contact support — note that some decline reasons are decided by the card network or merchant and may not be visible to us.

Send

How do I send money to someone else?

Open Send, choose where to send from and who to send to, enter their email or account number and the amount, then confirm and verify your identity. The App recognises the recipient details automatically, so you do not need to worry about the format.

Can I send money to someone outside the platform?

No. Transfers are only supported between users within MothCard.

Are there fees or a minimum amount for sending?

Yes, a service fee and a minimum amount apply. Refer to the confirmation page in the App for the exact values.

Security

Do I need to verify every action?

No. Everyday actions such as viewing and topping up do not require verification. Only sensitive actions like sending money, revealing the card number, or cancelling a card ask for a one-time identity check to confirm it is you.

What verification methods are available?

Common options are Face ID / fingerprint, or the 6-digit code from an authenticator app (Google Authenticator). Some actions also accept an email verification code. The App picks the most suitable method automatically.

Do I have to link an authenticator?

It is not required at registration. When you perform actions that require a higher security level, the App will guide you to set one up to better protect your funds.

Where can I find the 6-digit authenticator code?

Open Google Authenticator on your phone, find the entry for MothCard — the 6-digit number that refreshes every 30 seconds is your code.

What if I change phones or lose my authenticator?

During verification, tap "Cannot provide code" to start the recovery flow; you can re-link after passing identity verification. Before switching phones, we recommend unlinking the old authenticator in the App first to avoid any interruption.

What are the password requirements?

Passwords must be 8 to 20 characters long and include at least two of the following: numbers, letters, and special characters.

Transactions & Refunds

The payment asks me to confirm?

Some online payments require you to confirm the transaction in the App. Please watch for the notification and confirm in time — the confirmation link expires, and after that you will need to start the payment again.

Where will my refund go?

Refunds issued by a merchant are returned to the original card. Arrival time depends on how fast the merchant processes it, and you can track progress in Transactions. Please be patient — we cannot speed up the merchant side.

A transaction looks wrong or was charged incorrectly?

Please first check the amount, merchant, and status of the transaction in Transactions, and keep a screenshot if possible. Some transactions are processed by the card network and the merchant, so we may not see every detail or be able to reverse them directly. If you believe there is an issue, contact support and we will do our best to help.

My funds are frozen?

You can submit an appeal in the App; once the review passes, the funds will be unfrozen automatically. For details, contact support.

Notifications

Why should I keep notifications on?

Important updates — top-up arrivals, incoming transfers, transactions that need your confirmation, and card or security changes — are all delivered via notifications. We recommend keeping them on so you do not miss anything.

Where can I see past messages?

Open Profile and go to the Message Center to review the notifications you have received.

Update & Install

What should I do when the App asks me to update?

Visit the MothCard website (www.mothcard.io) or the app store on your device to download and install the latest version.

What if I do not have Google Play?

You can download the latest Android installer from the MothCard website (www.mothcard.io) and install it from there.

Where can I download safely?

Only download from the MothCard website (www.mothcard.io) or the official app store on your device. Never install packages sent in chat groups, from strangers, or from third-party marketplaces — they may be tampered with and could steal your account.

Will my card, balance, and data remain after updating?

Yes. The update only upgrades the App itself. Your account, cards, and funds are stored in the cloud, and everything appears as usual after you sign in.

Why is the update required and cannot be skipped?

A mandatory update usually contains security fixes or important adjustments. To protect your account and funds, please update to the latest version before continuing.

Contact Support

How do I reach a human support agent?

Tap "Contact Support" in the App. Please only reach us through the official entry inside the App to avoid impersonators.

Is this bot official?

Yes. Please only enter this bot via the "Contact Support" entry inside the MothCard App to avoid impersonators.
